Ectopic thyroid tissue is an uncommon entity, resulting from an aberrant migration of the gland. Ectopic thyroid is detected most commonly in the tongue base, but, that is found anywhere along the pathway of descent in the middle line of the neck with a prevalence of 0.17 in 1000 in adults. Moreover, dual ectopic thyroid is extremely rare. And, there have been only 23 previously reported cases. The authors report a recent case of dual ectopic thyroid present in the lingual and subhyoid acreas with no thyroid tissue in 13-year-old girl. The patient was performed excision under the impression of thyroglossal duct cyst at infrahyoid area. The permanent biopsy result is proven by non-neoplastic thyroid tissue with hyperplasia.
